Their articulation represents a complete lived experience -"

  About Us

The GW Review is a bi-annual national literary magazine that publishes poetry, fiction, essays, interviews and two-dimensional artwork.

History

The G.W. Review was established in 1980 by a GW professor and some graduate students. It had a slow, but promising start, as it was picked up by writers and scholars in the DC area. In the late 80's, things picked up and the G.W. Review is now a nationally distributed magazine.
It publishes work from around the country and sometimes the world. It gets about 1000 submissions a year, the majority of which are multiple entries.

Our Mission

Our primary mission has always been to bring lesser-known writers to the forefront. We live for the writer who does not allow current publishing and MFA program trends to dictate the direction of her work.

The G.W. Review has published some notables in the past including Gloria Naylor, Amiri Baraka, William Stafford, Jean Valentine, and E. Ethelbert Miller.
